The ancient Celts lived in close harmony with the land and the many standing stones and stone circles scattered throughout Celtic Europe is testament to that. In some places you may find a large stone with a hole carved through. These are marraige stones. Our ancestors gathered in these places to celebrate hand fastings and engagements. The newly weds would clasp hands through the stone and say their vows, setting their love in stone so to speak. Bridging the gap and making the connection between themselves, their traditions, and their land.
